While there is activity all year, in summer, Lenox is the heart of it all. Lenox is the site of Shakespeare & Company and Tanglewood, summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
Or stroll through Frelinghuysen Morris House and Studio, Edith Wharton's Mount, and Ventfort Hall. Look for music in Lilac Park on Wednesday and Sunday afternoons.
And shop: The Bookstore and Get Lit Wine Bar. (most likely to be able to chat with the owner about any book in the place over that glass of wine), Shooz, Catwalk Boutique, Wilcox and Casablanca to name a few. Then stop for a treat at the Art and Chocolate Gallery
And of course, food. There are a dozen restaurants within a 200 yard radius of the downtown Lenox including some of our favorites: Alta, Cello, Firefly Gastropub, and Frankie's
