The Landmark Art Museums

These three legendary institutions are world-famous, destination-defining highlights of the regional arts scene.

🖼️ MASS MoCA (North Adams)

Housed in a sprawling, converted 19th-century factory complex, this is one of the premier centers for contemporary visual arts in the world. Known for its massive scale, it features jaw-dropping, room-sized installations, boundary-pushing exhibitions, and vibrant indoor galleries that you can lose yourself in for hours.

🎨 Clark Art Institute (Williamstown)

Where classical elegance meets striking modern architecture. Set on a stunning, peaceful campus, the Clark boasts an extraordinary permanent collection of European and American masterpieces. It is most famous for its spectacular, world-class room of French Impressionist works, including iconic paintings by Monet, Renoir, and Degas.

🎨Norman Rockwell Museum (Stockbridge)

A deeply nostalgic journey into American history and illustration. This beautiful, light-filled museum houses the world’s largest collection of original Norman Rockwell art. Visitors can view his iconic, original Saturday Evening Post covers and explore changing exhibits celebrating the power of visual storytelling.

The Art of Crafts

🎨Ozzie's Glass Gallery (South Lee)

Step into the heat at Ozzie's and watch the master glassblower Ozzie Ozner transform molten glass into delicate masterpieces. Ozzie has been working his craft since he was a teenager, creating each piece using his hands, the flame and gravity. Whether you’re hunting for a 'Starry Night' oil lamp or just want to witness the magic of the flame, this gallery is a must-see on your Berkshire art crawl. BHS Exclusive: Ozzie loves sharing his craft with our guests. Call ahead to see if you can catch a special glass-blowing demo during your visit—it’s a front-row seat to the magic of the flame! 413-243-0973.  1670 Pleasant Street, 8 minutes from BHS.

Walk through the beautifully preserved living spaces to see original, masterwork paintings and sculptures by Picasso, Braque, and Léger integrated seamlessly into the architecture.

🚘 Gallery 271 (Monterey)
